Lover of My Soul

It is wonderful news to know that you want to follow Christ. First and foremost to believe in Christ means that you shun all other false religions and false gods, in which Hinduism is considered. The act of Baptism has nothing to do with BELIEVING in Christ. It is just a symbolism in identifying with Christ, in which it is a public act to show that you are renouncing the old unrenewed life, (dying to your old self) as you go under water, and when you rise up out of the water, you are taking on the new, resurrected life in Christ Jesus. Baptism comes AFTER you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior; it is out of an act of obedience. The entire bible is completely sound doctrine, as it was not written by mere man in their own human wisdom, but under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit given to each man individually. It is the inerrant and infallible Word of God, breathed by His own breath into the heart and spirit of each man. When a Christian dies, it means that we are absent from the body and present with the Lord. 1Thessalonians 4:15-17 (Amplified Bible)*For this we declare to you by the Lord's (own) word, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall in no way precede(into His presence)or have any advantage at all over those who have previously fallen asleep(in Him in death).*For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. *Then we, the living ones who remain (on the earth), shall be caught up along with (the resurrected dead) in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord.

We no longer live under the LAW, but under GRACE which Jesus died on the Cross to provide for us. Grace is God's undeserved, unmerited FAVOR. Religious rules and laws are the Old Testament teaching, but when Jesus came, He came to set us free from the Law and traditions of men. We cannot earn God's Grace, it is solely a FREE GIFT from God. All of OUR righteousness is as filthy rags in God's eyes. ONLY through the SHED BLOOD of Christ Jesus can we be made RIGHTEOUS, and His death provides us this liberty and freedom in Him. Unless we confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. John 3:1-7

So to answer your final question, can you still be a Hindu and worship Christ? No, that is not possible. You will never regret giving your life to Jesus as He is the only One who, if you were to go look into His grave, you would not find Him there, because He is ALIVE!! The decayed bones/remains of those other gods would be found in their tombs, because they are not the true God incarnate, did not resurrect from the grave, nor are they any of the 3 persons of the Trinity, which is the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I hope this has helped you in your quest to know more about Jesus and Christianity.

Love in Christ Jesus,
Maria
